Proud of our dominion, we remain blind to how deeply we are victims of nature, and of ourselves. In our arrogance, we assume ‘reason’ has elevated us beyond myths and symbols. Yet, a truth might be that, the ancient ‘gods and demons’ haven’t vanished; they’ve merely changed names. Their new forms are the anxieties and neuroses that trouble us, the unconscious forces that relentlessly elude our control. Our very creative mind can turn against us. We are, at our core, intrinsically vulnerable. Only by surrendering to and accepting the invisible world can we truly ascend
